eLight is to offer energy-efficient lighting at no cost to Irish small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across a number of sectors.

The ‘Race for SMEs’ campaign, which is being rolled out in association with Bord na Móna, is open to offices, hotels, retailers, pubs, coffee shops, guest houses, restaurants and nursing homes.

Under the campaign eLight will provide LED lamps and installation to businesses free of charge.

The lamps reduce energy costs by up to 85pc, and, in addition, they significantly reduce energy use, making them more environmentally-friendly.

According to eLight, savings on running costs from using energy-efficient lights could equate to between €2,750 per year for a retailer and up to €35,000 per year for a hotel.

As part of the campaign, eLight is aiming to distribute up to half a million LED lighting products to businesses over the next year.

“We are delighted to be working in association with Bord na Móna to deliver cost and environmental benefits to Irish businesses,” Ian McKenna, managing director of eLight, said.

“Not only will this be a great result for the businesses, it will support Ireland to achieve its energy and environmental targets.”

Last year the company installed over 150,000 commercial LED fittings for businesses.
