Meath Enterprise in collaboration with Meath Chambers, was delighted to award Hugh Maguire with an award in recognition of his huge achievement in winning the Supreme Champion Award at the 2017 Great Taste Awards in London for his smoked black pudding at our #MEW2017 Business Conference & Expo on the 16th November in the Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim. An audience of over 400 people applauded as Hugh received his award from Manager of Meath Enterprise Gary O’Meara.

The audience were then fortunate enough to get the opportunity to hear Hugh being interviewed by our MC for the day Brian Purcell. He described his huge shock at receiving the Great Taste award and the very positive impact it has had on his business. Hugh Maguire Butchers/ The Smokin Butcher are currently in the process of developing new products that we will see on our shelves in the near future! Hugh also told us about all his traveling and how it influenced his award-winning pudding leading to a truly unique taste.

Hugh shared with us the news that he has recently purchased a new space in Navan from which to scale his business so we sincerely wish Hugh, his wife Caroline and his children the best of luck going forward and we look forward to celebrating more award wins with him in the future.
