#MEW2017 Schools Enterprise Competition

On Thursday 9th November as part of Meath Enterprise Week 2017 a Schools Enterprise Competition took place in St. Pats Classical School in Navan, Co.Meath. The competition had a Dragons Den style format with students pitching their ideas to our four judges-

  • Gary O’Meara-  Meath Enterprise
  • Rosita Moyles- JM Foods
  • Ashling Vaughan-  AIB
  • Joe Giltinane-  Ashbourne Chamber of Commerce

The ideas that were presented by the students absolutely blew the four judges away. They were exceptional presentations and all the students involved put a lot of work and thought into their pitches. The teachers behind these great students, Gareth McMahon and Marie Gaffney also deserve huge praise for inspiring and motivating their students. The winner will be announced at our #MEW Business Conference & Expo in the Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim on the 16th November, to register for this free event CLICK HERE

The Roofing Safety Bar

The Roofing Safety Bar is a safety mechanism to prevent a roofer from falling off a roof. We designed and made a prototype of the roofing safety bar. We have looked across the internet to make sure there is nothing on the market like this design and we have not came across anything on the market like it. Our USP is that our roofing safety bar does not have any points of contact with the roof. Our bar will be connected to each gable end of the house. The bar we will use will be telescopic, so it can be adjusted to suit the roof and also easily transported.

 Junior Cert Grinds Navan

Junior Cert Grinds Navan is an innovative new business idea in the Junior Cert grinds market. Our business is based on providing affordable grinds at convenient times. The grinds will be held after school in classrooms here in St Patrick’s Classical School. We have two unique competitive advantages in this market: Our extremely low prices (€5 per hour) and our online booking system. Our prices are on average less than 25% of our competitors in the Navan area. We are also the only grinds school in the country that provides the facility to easily reserve a place in a class online. This booking system may also allow us to begin online payment, another unique advantage. Finally, all classes will be taught by students who got an A in the subject in the Junior Cert.
