Caroline Horgan is the Managing Director of Abbeylands Furniture Ltd, Scatter Box and Emily McGuinness Fabric.

Some 18 years ago Caroline took the helm at Abbeylands Furniture Ltd, the Navan furniture business her father started in the late 1950s.

Over the decades with global importing, the company’s core business, furniture manufacturing and supplying foam products to local furniture makers, had been decimated to near wipe-out.

However, Caroline fought back by branching into soft-furnishings, concentrating on Irish design and expanding into the UK supplying major multiple retailers, but that division also suffered badly in the latest recession.

Today, it is a thriving business once again and this year has expanded into furniture and art. The company continues to grow rapidly, increasing employment and new overseas markets

Based in Navan, Co. Meath, our 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility allows Abbeylands Furniture Ltd. to supply private label for renowned multiple retailers both in Ireland and the UK. They also supply bespoke products to furniture manufacturers, hotel and leisure contractors.

Scatter Box, Emily McGuinness and Scatter Bag brands are exclusively designed for the independent retailer. With over 35 years in business, Abbeylands Furniture Ltd. continually strive to fulfil their customers’ needs. Their design team travel worldwide selecting materials, fabrics and trimmings to enhance their growing reputation for exceptional design, innovation and quality.

Recently they have introduced luxurious velvet furniture & new original hand painted wall art under their Scatter Box brand.
